St John the Baptist is nestled at the entrance to Stoke College, whose collegiate chapel it was prior to the reformation. The base of the tower dates to the 13th Century, though the church has been rebuilt at least three times.
The church’s 15th Century carved wooden pulpit is one of the smallest in England.
The church has a 9.00am service on the first three Sundays of each month, and a slightly later, 10.00am Parish Eucharist on the fourth.
